人们在长期报震、抗震的工作中,已经观察到许多动物在震前有种种异常反应:畜不进圈狗狂叫,冬眠蛇出老鼠闹,鸭不下水鸡上树,蜜蜂飞迁鱼上跳,鹦鹉撞笼鸽惊飞,狮虎哀吼狼悲嚎等等。我国邢台地区人民通过对预测预报地震的实践,还编成这样的谚语:“鸡在窝里闹,猪在圈里跳,羊跑狗也叫,地震快来到。”从大量地震资料来看,已知地震前有异常反应的动物约有近100种,包括昆虫、鱼类、蛙、鸟类、兽类和家禽畜。其中以狗、猫、鸡、鸟和猪等反应最为明显。
