On July 25, 1999, a reporter from Hong Kong’s “Asia Weekly” visited Li Hongzhi in the United States. One of these dialogues is this: The reporter asks: “It is said that you came to the United States as a brilliant man.” Li Hongzhi said nothing, as he replied : "Am I still not outstanding talent? The first time I came to the United States as a tourist to Houston to speak, when some students told me to do immigration, to find a lawyer, I did not come forward. Waiting for about 9 months to approve, in February 1998 formally settled in the United States. He did not give a positive answer to how he got his green card, which of course is the general attitude of immigrants, treating his immigration experience as a secret.
