亨利·菲尔丁作为18世纪英国小说文学创新的开拓者,在继承和发展了传统小说的基础之上,创造出了独具一格的新型小说模式。他的两部巨作《约瑟夫·安德鲁》和《汤姆·琼斯》见证了他所独创的小说理论的开端、发展与完善,而《汤姆·琼斯》则是菲尔丁小说理论与实践的完美结合与见证。本篇论文以《汤姆·琼斯》为例,浅析这部作品中呈现的菲尔丁以模仿自然为核心的小说理论,以及他是如何将这一理论运用于这部小说的创作之中的。
As a pioneer in the innovation of British novel literature in the 18th century, Henry Fielding has created a new style of novel based on the inheritance and development of traditional novels. His two masterpieces “Joseph Andrew” and “Tom Jones” witnesses the beginning, development and improvement of his original novels theory, while “Tom Jones” is the perfect combination of theory and practice of Fielding’s novels witness. This essay takes Tom Jones as an example to analyze Fielding ’s novel theory that mimics nature as the core and how he applies the theory to the creation of this novel .
