This study explores the impact of the current CET4 test on English learning of non-English majors after class. Based on a one-year follow-up of extracurricular English learning for three students at a university, based on an analysis of 106 student diaries and 30 interviews, this study found that under the influence of CET-4, three Students are more inclined to change what they learn than how they learn. This change is related to their understanding of Level 4 exams, their knowledge of English as a Learner, past exams and study experiences, others’ Level 4 exam experiences, and their learning environment Closely related.
