Doll’s House is a famous play by Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen (1828-1906). First staged in 1879, widely circulated, loved by the audience. This is a drama that expresses the rights and interests of women. In the play, the heroine NORA can not stand her husband’s discrimination and abuse, and finally abandon her family to seek a new life with independent personality. The ending of the story shocked the traditional life of the valueist who had walked away and sought a new life with an independent personality. The ending of the story shook the European society that stuck with traditional values. Today, after Dolly’s House premiered more than 100 years ago, we can still feel the realistic significance of the play when we reread this play. In all countries of the world today, many women are still subjected to different forms of discrimination and abuse to varying degrees. They are still tirelessly fighting for their rights and interests. The Fourth United Nations World Conference on Women, to be held in Beijing in September this year, will certainly promote the struggle among women in all countries in the world for the advancement of women, safeguarding the rights and interests of women, eliminating discrimination and achieving equality between men and women.
