一千多年前的一天,晚唐詩人皮日休來到蘇州開元寺,見供案上擺着一對碧綠的玉石佛鉢,引起了詩人的注意。一位老儈向他述說了這對佛鉢的來歷:據《法顯傳》云,佛鉢本在古印度毘舍離,佛祖曾用它吃齋。其後這對佛鉢幾經流轉來到漢地。晋建興八年,漁民們在吳淞江邊的沙灘上發現了這兩個佛鉢,起初以為是臼類的東西,不一會兒有佛像從鉢子上浮現出來,漁民們無不驚異,趕忙把它們送到開元寺來保存。於是皮日休寫下一首《開元寺佛鉢詩》:“帝青石作綠冰姿(佛律云:此鉢帚青玉石也,四天王所獻也),曾得金人手自持。拘律樹邊齋散後,提羅花下洗來時。乳麇味斷中天覺,
