居制是一种结婚时选择居住形式的制度,是家庭文化的重要内容。依照家庭成员居住地为标准,居制可分为从妻居家庭、从夫居家庭、单居制家庭。从妻居家庭即婚后,丈夫和子女在妻家住;从夫居家庭即婚后妻子和子女在夫家住;单居制家庭即婚后丈夫和妻子不住妻家也不住夫家,单独居住。
