鸭河口水库是汉江中游左岸支流唐白河上游的一个水利枢纽。这个水库修建后可以把白河南阳附近百年一遇的洪峯流量11,300秒公方削减为4,000秒公方。同时利用该水库调节的水量可以灌溉农田110万亩,装机5,440瓦。其它还有便利航运,发展人工养渔业等效益。水利枢纽的组成包括土坝、输水隧洞、溢洪道及电站,土坝总长3,010公尺,其中主坝长1,310公尺,最大坝高32.5公尺;输水隧洞为园形压力隧洞,直径3.5公尺,长约120公尺,当水库降至死水位时可以输水60秒公方;溢洪道为河岸式,溢流堰长230公尺,百年一遇溢洪流量为2,600秒公方;电站机组4台,每台容量1,360瓦。大坝土石方总量600余万公方。水库的总库容为11.2亿公方。
