Since 1985, Peking University, Nankai University and Fudan University took the lead in establishing editorial majors and enrolling four-year undergraduates. Tsinghua University, China University of Science and Technology, Nanjing University, Sichuan University, Henan University and Wuhan University also successively opened Undergraduate or master’s degree, or undergraduate or dual-level editing major; to 1990, “editorial” as an independent entry was officially enrolled in the “Encyclopedia of China” (press and publication volume), it should be said that regardless of the universal Recognition or not, editing as an independent new discipline exists is a fact. Correspondingly, since the mid-1980s, there has been an increasing number of domestic studies on editorial work, and relevant books, publications and dissertations in editorial studies have been published one after another. However, at the same time that editorial studies are constantly developing, some problems existing in the field of editing and publishing, especially the quality of publications, have not changed much. The author believes that this study of editorial studies at least shows two points: first, editing has not yet developed into a science; second, editorial studies perspective and manner should be changed.
