对COADS资料中1950~1992年西北太平洋(50°N—10°S,90°E—170°W)4°×4°方区的海表面气温、水温、气压和风速序列数据,采用考虑非线性效应的混合谱等方法,进行了时间序列分析;通过周期成分加线性趋势项拟合这些序列,求得表示各方区各要素升降趋势的年变率.年变率分析结果表明,上述西北太平洋海表气温在上升,整个海区平均年上升率为0.00170℃;水温在下降,整个海区平均年下降率为0.00105℃.水温下降区的范围比气温下降区的范围大,因而总体呈下降趋势.海表气温和水温的变化趋势在各海区的分布并非一致.其分布的突出特征是两者在赤道太平洋都有1a上升率高值区;而在中国东海北部以北、日本海和日本以东的西北太平洋广大海区,都有1a下降率的低值区;两者形成南升北降的相反趋势的对峙分布.上述整个西北太平洋海面气压的变化平均呈上升趋势,平均年上升率为0.00840hPa.气压的升降在该区并非一致,其中国海域及赤道太平洋海面气压呈上升趋势,而在140°E以东,20°N以北区域海面气压为下降趋势.太平洋海面风速呈加强趋势.风速东分量和北分量变化趋势的区域分布变化较大.
