In the process of modernization in the Middle East, many Arab women have gradually taken the veil off. But in recent decades, they have put on veil again. The current interpretation of this topic focuses on the discussion of the Islamic Renaissance movement and the modern trend. This article selects the Palestinian community in the Mount of Olives in East Jerusalem as a fieldwork site and further supplements and reflects on the two previous research paths by observing the wearing of veil by young Palestinian women. On this basis, we try to find out and understand the influence of the family in local society on the concept of young women’s veil in order to provide a more comprehensive interpretation framework.
