JPEG2000与传统JPEG最大的不同,在于它放弃了JPEG所采用的以离散馀弦转换(Discrete Cosine Transform)为主的区块编码方式,而改采以小波转换(Wavelet transform)为主的多解析编码方式。H.264则是当前最新的视频编码技术,它的帧内编码引入了很多新的技术,这使它的帧内编码效率远远高于以往的编码标准。为了定量比较H.264和JPEG2000对静态图像压缩性能的差异,本文用灰度图像进行了测试。实验数据表明:H.264帧内编码的效率比JPEG2000要高,但复杂度却高于JPEG2000,而JPEG2000的感兴趣区域编码特性也是其优势之一。
The biggest difference between JPEG2000 and the traditional JPEG is that it abandons the block encoding method based on Discrete Cosine Transform (JPEG), instead of multi-resolution coding based on Wavelet transform the way. H.264 is currently the latest video coding technology, and its intra coding introduces a lot of new techniques, which makes its intra coding efficiency much higher than the previous coding standards. In order to quantitatively compare the difference of the static image compression performance between H.264 and JPEG2000, the gray image was used in this paper. Experimental results show that the efficiency of H.264 intra-frame coding is higher than that of JPEG2000, but the complexity is higher than that of JPEG2000. JPEG2000 coding region of interest is also one of its advantages.
