At present, a large number of articles have been published on the conditions for studying the depth, scale and thermodynamic conditions of the function of forming gas by using the concentrations of rare components (argon, helium and nitrogen) in the free gas. As early as 1950, А.Л.Козлов proposed a method of determining formation pressure based on the content of argon in the free gas band. In recent years, this method has been used to study the formation of free gas bands in Purinkuwa and northern West Siberia.
