2000年年底，中国电大系统举行了“广播电视大学发展战略研讨会”，提出了“如何看待现代远程教育试点中的新情况、新问题？”“如何确定广播电视大学在现代远程教育中的地位？”“如何用好政策、搞好人才培养模式改革和开放教育试点？”“如何跟踪信息技术发展，搞好基于网络的远程教育，实现电大跨越式的发展”等诸多的问题，并拟开展一次教育思想大讨论。在跨入新世纪的时刻，面对信息技术发展带来的机遇与挑战，电大比以往任何时候都严肃、冷静地研究生存与发展的空间。本刊将予以特别关注，欢迎来稿参与研讨。
