Stomatin(红细胞膜蛋白7.2b)最先在遗传性口形红细胞增多症患者的红细胞膜上发现该蛋白缺失。之后的研究表明,stomatin及其同源物在不同种属的各种组织中广泛表达,并在胆固醇丰富的微区——脂筏中发挥重要功能,例如参与调节离子通道、调节细胞骨架等等。大量实验结果证实,秀丽隐杆线虫stomatin同源物MEC-2在线虫的机械感觉传导中发挥重要作用,提示在哺乳动物中stomatin可能也发挥相同的作用。最近有关stomatin与机械感觉传导的研究也越来越多。本文就stomatin及其在哺乳动物机械感觉传导中的作用进行简要介绍。
Stomatin (erythrocyte membrane protein 7.2b) was the first to find deletion of this protein in the erythrocyte membrane of patients with hereditary polycythemia. Subsequent studies have shown that stomatin and its homologues are widely expressed in various tissues of different species and play important roles in cholesterol-rich micro-lipid rafts, for example, in the regulation of ion channels, regulation of cytoskeleton, and the like . Numerous experimental results have confirmed that MEC-2, the stomatin homologue of C. elegans, plays an important role in the mechanosensory transduction of C. elegans, suggesting that stomatin might also play a similar role in mammals. Recent research on stomatin and mechanosensory conduction has also increased. This article provides a brief introduction of stomatin and its role in mammalian sensory transduction.
