The unified and standardized quality indicators for home care can not only help to judge the quality of home care service, but more importantly, it can help identify the gaps and problems in the process, so as to improve the quality of home care service. This article summarizes some of the advanced assessment tools that have been internationally applied for the home health care and to discuss the direction for development of the assessment tools in China.
