五月红是四川省农业科学院园艺试验站1951年从江津实生甜橙中选择培育出来的优良晚熟品种。我场于1966年秋引入,高接在四百多株1960年定植的实生甜橙上,1968年试花,1969年挂果。但因当时我们对其品种特性认识不够,管理措施跟不上,冬季落果十分严重,一般只好随中熟种一起采收(1971年留树到2月中旬),但果实仍未成熟,简直不堪食用。后经反复实践摸索,同时认真学习江津、江安等地的成功经验,根据我场具体情况,拟订技术措施,有效地控制了采前落果,不断地提高了产量和质量。1972
May Red is the horticultural experimental station of Sichuan Academy of Agricultural Sciences in 1951 from Jiangjin real sweet orange to choose out of fine late maturing varieties. My field was introduced in the autumn of 1966, followed by more than 400 live sweet oranges planted in 1960, the flower test in 1968, and the fruit hangs in 1969.
