2001年7月14日,美国密歇根州河景市一化工厂的铁路罐车,发生甲硫醇泄漏事故,随即爆炸并引发大火。期间,泄漏的甲硫醇分解生成了有毒气体,并向周围散去,大量居民被迫转移。此外,大火还导致了氯泄漏。事故共造成3人死亡,49人受伤,工厂生产设备受损严重。
On July 14, 2001, a methylmercaptan leak occurred on a railway tanker at a chemical plant in Riverview City, Michigan, U.S.A., and it exploded and caused a fire. During this period, the leaked methylmercaptan decomposed and generated toxic gases and dispersed to the surrounding areas. Many residents were forced to relocate. In addition, the fire caused chlorine leaks. Three people were killed and 49 were injured in the accident, causing serious damage to the factory’s production equipment.
