It was probably her giggling（咯咯笑） that drew my attention. Note taking really wasnt all that funny as far as I knew．
Walking over to the offender， I asked for the 1 she had in her hands. Frozen， she refused to give it to me. I waited， all attention in the classroom on the quiet 2 between teacher and student. When she finally 3 it over she whispered， “Okay， but I didnt draw it.”
It was a handdrawn 4 of me， teeth blackened and the words “Im stupid” coming out of my mouth.
I managed to fold it up calmly. My mind， 5， was working angrily as I struggled not to 6. I figured I knew the two most likely candidates for drawing the picture. It would do them some 7 to teach them a lesson， and maybe it was high time that I did it!
Thankfully， I was able to keep myself 8.
When there were about six minutes remaining， I showed the class the picture. They were all silent as I told them how 9 this was for me. I told them there must be a reason 10 and now was their chance to write down anything they needed to tell me. Then I let them write silently while I sniffled in the back of the classroom．
As I 11 the notes later， many of them said something like， “Ive got nothing against you，” or “Im sorry you were hurt.” Some kids said， “Were 12 of you.” But two notes， from the girls who I 13 were behind the picture， had a list of issues. I was too 14， too strict…
Reading those notes， I realized that over the course of this year， instead of 15 my students， I had begun commanding them to 16. Where I thought I was driving them to success I was 17 driving them away．
I had some apology to do. But the next day in the classroom， one boy and one girl each handed me a card. The one 18 by all the boys expressed sincere regret for the ugly joke. The one from the girls asked for 19．
This was a lesson for both the kids and me. Forgiveness does not change the past， but it does enlarge the 20.

The next time you can spare a minute， have a look in the mirror. What do you see staring back at you？ How would you describe yourself？ How do you perceive（认识） your body？ This perception is your body image， or what you think you see in the mirror.
Unfortunately a persons body image is often very different from their actual body. It is this negative body image that often pushes people to their limit trying to change what isnt actually there. Instead， you should form a realistic body image based on what your body can do， and how you feel， rather than how you think your body looks．
Many young people base their body image on what they see in the media. Young women want to be thin and willowy， and young men want bulging（凸出的） biceps（二头肌）. Yet what is wandering onto our TV and cinema screens， and popping up in our magazines and websites， are the exceptions rather than the rule. In reality， base your body image on:
▲Medically accepted standards， such as a total body fat percentage of under 30% for women and 25% for men．
▲How you feel. When your body feels healthy and strong， then your body image should be as well.
▲Respect yourself. Dont compare yourself to supermodels， or even to your friends who have naturally different body shapes．
Its likely that if you have a quick look in the mirror， youll have at least one criticism of your body. If you find yourself fearful of your reflection， you must take measures to change this before you wind up miserable:
▲Participate in a favourite activity. When you use your body， youre more likely to respect it.
▲Walk to the shops. Remind yourself that you rely on your body and should treat it accordingly.
▲Organise a balanced， healthy diet. Your body can only feel as good as what you put into it.
▲Quit smoking， drinking or taking drugs. Unhealthy chemicals will only make you feel slow.
Body image is a tricky subject. Rather than setting these unrealistic goals， focus on living a healthy lifestyle and enjoying the results!
