东西方小说所体现出的英雄悲剧精神 ,既有其本质区别 ,也有相同之处。我国古代小说所体现的英雄悲剧精神 ,随着历史的发展而不断得到升华。先秦时期的神话传说所体现的是一种百折不挠、英勇无畏的斗争精神。阶级社会以来 ,其作品所表现的则是一种中华民族所特有的反对阶级、民族压迫 ,追求理想和自由的精神境界。岳飞的爱国主义 ,诸葛亮的鞠躬尽瘁、死而后已的伟大精神和传统美德 ,代表了中国古代小说中英雄悲剧精神的最高境界
