2008年1月中旬,一场灾难性的雨雪天气席卷了大半个中国。湖南、贵州、江苏等地发生了新中国成立以来罕见的雨雪冰冻灾害,交通受阻、房屋倒塌、饮水困难、燃气短缺……人民群众的生产生活受到了严重威胁。面对这突如其来的自然灾害,建设部强力组织抗灾抢险,多次下发紧急通知,部署抗灾救灾工作。建设部部长汪光焘、副部长姜伟新亲自到受灾严重省份察看灾情,实地指导工作。各地建设行政主管部门采取有力措施,奋力抢险,把灾害带来的影响降到了最低。
In mid-January 2008, a catastrophic rain and snow swept over half of China. The rare snow-ice disaster since the founding of New China occurred in places such as Hunan, Guizhou and Jiangsu. Traffic was blocked, houses collapsed, water was in difficulty and gas was scarce. People’s production and living were seriously threatened. In the face of this sudden natural disasters, the Ministry of Construction strongly organized disaster relief and rescue operations, issued numerous emergency notifications and deployed disaster relief work. Wang Guangtao, minister of the Ministry of Construction, and Jiang Weixin, the deputy minister, went to the severely affected provinces to inspect the disaster and guide the work on the ground. The competent administrative departments for construction at all levels have taken effective measures to make every effort to rescue and bring the impact brought by the disaster to a minimum.
