邓小平同志指出:“我们国家国力的强弱,经济发展后劲的大小,越来越取决于劳动者的素质,取决于知识分子的数量和质量。”在培养劳动者和知识分子这个宏大的工程中,中专教育无疑是中坚力量。近几年来,中专教育每年给社会输送了上百万最基础,也是最基层的技能性人才。在我国社会主义现代化建设中,中专教育的作用无疑是巨大的,不可忽视的,也是必不可少的。但是,随着社会主义市场经济体制改革的逐步展开,中专教育面临的教育经费、招生分配的问题日益突出。中专教育面临的生存与发展的问题,中专教育面临着如何为经济建设这个中心服务的问题。笔者认为,中专教育应勇敢地面向市场,闯出一条生存与发展的新路子来。中专教育要闯出新路,必须做到:
