In 1977, Mitsui used a Tucker alloy cast iron as liner material on a MAN-B & W diesel engine, which is a flaky graphite alloy cast iron with a small amount of B and P. Its matching piston ring material is Yuba alloy. Tuck cast iron with high strength and wear resistance, and has been used in GFCA, GB and the current MC diesel engine. However, to further enhance its strength, it must sacrifice its high wear resistance. In an effort to look for cast iron, which has both higher strength and better wear resistance, the company tested various types of alloy cast iron
