Radon flux at the ground-atmosphere interface is one of the measurements commonly needed for environmental purposes and for prospective sites in mines. There are many ways to make such a measurement. Usually use “cumulative” technology. This method requires that the open end of the container be placed on the ground with one end facing down, to determine the radon activity at a given time in the container, and to estimate the radon concentration using scintillation vials of the air sample in the container. The purpose of this work is to simplify this method using other radon concentration measurement techniques. Flux measurements using the conventional method were compared as a standard method (spot sampling) with the results measured using a silicon detector (continuous measurement) and the measurement using a solid state track detector (cumulative measurement). For the latter two methods, a correction factor is used in order to obtain the true value of the 222Rn precipitation flux provided by the standard method.
