A year ago, the economic authorities of various countries generally agreed that the economic situation of developing countries in 1990 will be further deteriorated. Practice has confirmed this prediction. In 1990, the economies of developing countries fell into a crisis of growth or “growth-type recession.” The economic prospects of developing countries in 1991 are likely to be even more bleak.
