Optoelectronics Technology Group of the Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and the Optical Communication Office of the former Ministry of Electronics jointly held the first military optical fiber seminar in Beijing on May 10 to May 13, 1988 with relevant leaders of the leading organs attending the conference. The main research and development units, application units, the armed forces and colleges and universities representatives. The meeting reviewed and summarized the development process, experience and lessons of military optical fiber both at home and abroad and put forward suggestions for future development. Over the past decade or so, optical fiber technology has been rapidly developed and widely used, and has made remarkable achievements.
