二十世纪三十年代,在一批进步青年左翼文化运动兴起的基础上,鲁迅先生倡导以木刻艺术形式为斗争武器的运动——新兴木刻运动,新兴木刻版画开始以燎原之势在全国兴起了。这一以黑白为主的木刻版画在当时成为了关注劳苦大众、揭露政治现象的主要文艺形式之一。鲁迅先生把西方的现代版画介绍到中国并鼓励当时的版画家结合当时的社会环境,为人民大众服务,振兴国家。
In the 1930s, on the basis of the rise of a group of progressive youth left-wing cultural movements, Mr. Lu Xun advocated a woodcut art form as the weapon of struggle - the emerging woodcut movement. The rise of new woodcut engravings started the prairie fire across the country . This predominantly black and white woodcut was one of the major literary forms that focused on the laboring masses and exposed the political phenomena at the time. Mr. Lu Xun introduced western modern prints to China and encouraged the then print-makers to serve the people and rejuvenate the country in the light of the current social environment.
