1937年7月7日,日本帝国主义蓄谋已久的全面侵华战争,在北京西南郊宛平县城外的卢沟桥爆发。卢沟桥的枪炮声,震撼了祖国大地,激怒了四亿五千万中华儿女。7月8日,中国共产党中央委员会立即通电全国:“武装保卫平、津,保卫华北!不让日本帝国主义占领中国寸土!为保卫国土流最后一滴血!全中国同胞、政府与军队团结起来,筑成民族统一战线的坚固长城,抵抗日寇的侵略!”
