According to the Science Policy Outlook, Wien Ellis, chairman of the U.S. House of Representatives' Scientific Committee, recently released a major declaration on the long-term US science and technology policy formulated by the Commission, entitled "Enabling Our Future: Towards The report of the Unlocking Our Future; Toward a New National Science Policy is intended to summarize the scientific journey the United States has taken and how American science should embrace a knowledge-based globalization The challenge of the world. This report by Ehlers-led committees was developed after seven scientific hearings, two roundtable discussions and an online exchange of views on public participation. The report scans and covers many areas, but can be broadly summarized in the following three main areas: Science must be given the opportunity to prosper as it is a new and better place to know, product and craft. Stable and significant funding must be provided for federal research; the diversity and variability of research must be preserved; and groundbreaking and creative research must be promoted. The private sector has an equally important role to play in maintaining the entire scientific and engineering career in the United States; a state-based economic development partnership must be encouraged.
