当地球年纪还小的时候,火星离地球很近。人们爬到龙山的山顶上,架上梯子,就能爬到火星上去。火星上住着一条龙。龙的心情很不好。他觉得嗓子疼,老想咳嗽。他一咳嗽就会咳出一阵黑烟或是一团火焰。火星上很热,只有树林里才稍微有点凉意。龙喜欢到树林里去。他在树林里也忍不住要咳嗽。他咳出的火焰烧了好几棵大树。再这么下去,火星上仅有的几片树林迟早都会被烧掉。火星人只好禁止龙去树林。龙更痛苦了。那时候,地球很冷,一年中有一大半的时间处在冰天雪地之中。
