不同语言所承载的文化也有差异,每种语言都有其特有的词汇,这类在各国长期历史发展过程中所形成的词汇即文化负载词。文化因素的特殊性和复杂性决定了文化负载词在翻译方法上的变通和灵活。本文就以Nida提出的五类文化因素为标准来分析《古文观止》英译本中文化负载词的处理。
Different cultures carry different cultures. Each language has its own specific vocabulary. These words are culturally loaded words formed in the long-term historical development of various countries. The particularity and complexity of the cultural factors determine the translatability and flexibility of culturally loaded words in translation methods. In this article, I will analyze the handling of culturally loaded words in the English version of “Ancient Chinese Viewpoints” based on the five types of cultural factors proposed by Nida.
