In June 1922, Zhu De went to work-study in France and came to Chongqing from Chongqing. After his friend Sun Bingwen introduced him, Zhu De met the Sun Yat-sen who was forced to leave Guangzhou due to the mutiny of Chen Jiongming in the French Concession. This is the first meeting between Zhu De and Sun Yat-sen and the only meeting between the two. Mr. Sun Yat-sen, 56, is agile and despite the setbacks in the revolution, he remains optimistic about the future.
