2003年7月28日,新疆阿克苏公路总段所属7段一所电子信箱全部开通,一天内总段行办收到公路信息34条,上传10条。这标志着阿克苏公路总段3级电子信息传递网络正式建成并投入使用。 7月是养护生产大忙季节,在资金十分紧张的情况下,总段挤出6万元资金,购买了8台电脑,专门用于下发文件,并拨出每月60元的拨号上网费用。7月23日～27日总段帮各公路段完成了安装调试工作。
