金秋九月,我们迎来了万众企盼六年的体坛盛事——第七届全国运动会,本刊在热烈祝贺之际,相信我国的竞技体育定会迈上一个新台阶。现在,人类社会已进入科技高度发达的时代,世界体坛倡导的奥林匹克精神,震撼着世界上所有的民族和国家,也震撼着一代中华国人和体育健儿。如何使我国在现代西方体育业已成熟的激烈发展的竞争中成为强手,完成我国本世纪末成为世界体育强国的体育发展战略目标,这是一项十分艰巨的任务。这不仅是运动健儿们奋斗的大目标,也需要国人在思想上行动上经济上给予支持。它同经济改革一样是应由举国民众为之努力奋斗的一项系统工程。
In autumn, in September, we ushered in the sporting event that many people look forward to for six years - the Seventh National Games. While warmly congratulating on the occasion, we believe that our competitive sports will surely reach a new stage. Now that human society has entered a highly developed era of science and technology, the Olympic spirit advocated by the world’s sports has shaken all the nations and nations in the world and also shook the Chinese people and athletes of a generation. How to make our country become a strong hand in the already fiercely developed competition in the modern western sports industry and accomplish the strategic goal of becoming a sports power in the world by the end of this century is a very arduous task. This is not only a major goal of the athletes who are struggling, but also requires the financial support of the people in their ideological actions. As with economic reform, it is a systematic project that the Chinese people should strive for.
