In the recent 20 years, the production of high-quality yellow chickens in China has witnessed rapid development. The production of yellow chickens has grown at a rate of about 15% annually in 1980, with 150 million slaughtered in 1980, 600 million slaughtered in 1990 and 1.5 billion slaughtered in 1998 only.
