Objective To investigate the status of welder blood pressure and its influencing factors. Methods Blood pressure was measured in 100 welders and control subjects respectively. The general situation was investigated and the association between various influencing factors and abnormal blood pressure was analyzed. Results The detection rates of hypertension in the contact group and the control group were 18.0% and 22.0% respectively, with no significant difference (χ2 = 0.500, P> 0.05). The average systolic and diastolic blood pressure in the contact group was lower than that in the control group (t = 2.444,2.285, P <0.05). Non-conditional logistic regression analysis showed that the risk of welder hypertension was 3.35, OR = 3.133, 3.611, 2.546 (P <0.01 or 0.05, respectively) ). Conclusion The welding operation has not become a risk factor for welder hypertension. Body mass index (BMI) is an important factor affecting the welder’s high blood pressure. Welders should adopt a good lifestyle to control their body weight to maintain good health.
