南京市科委下达给我院的1982年科研项目“多模光纤芯部相对折射率分布曲线测量装置”,已按期完成研制任务。1982年12月15日至16日,南京市科委在我院召开了鉴定会议,对该项目进行了技术鉴定。出席会议的有研究院、所、工厂、高等院校等20多个单位,30多人。光纤的折射率分布是决定多模光纤传输带宽的一个重要参数,测量折射率分布对研制和改进光纤制造工艺、研究光纤的传输性能以及工程应用等均具有重大意义。由于光纤剖面折射率分布的测量,一般对光学和机械结构的精度要求很高,国内目前还难以实现。为了满足当前光纤通信发展的需要,我院于1981年对光纤芯部折射率分布曲线的测量方法进行了研究,采用了电视技术测量光纤近场强度分布的方法,并在此基础上在被测光纤的注入端使用了扰模器,解决了一般采用近场法必须用修正公式才能测得较满意的折射率分布曲线的问
