From 1975 to 2008, Richard Wolff participated in a collective study aimed at reflecting and developing Marxist economics. At the University of Massachusetts Amherst, the research has yielded some results, generating many doctoral dissertations, academic monographs and academic dissertations that have spawned a new academic journal, “Reflecting Marxism,” and its publishing agency “ Economic and Social Analysis Association. ” One of the central contents of this collective study is to make a new interpretation of Marx’s “capital theory.” This article will briefly summarize this new way of interpretation to reveal how Marx interpreted his unique social class theory in terms of the production, possession and distribution of surplus value. In our opinion, Marx’s theory is not mechanical reductionism, but pluralistic determinism. Allen Oakley published his research using this interpretation in the Proceedings of the Marxist Theorist in Australia. Later, the results were included in the essay edited by Wolf and others and published in German.
