甘肅省西部的戈壁灘和大草灘上,有一百多个勘探人員正在尋找蘭新铁路机車需要的水。在东樂附近的戈壁灘上工作的勘探人員,已經發現了丰富的地下水源。有的地方,他們把高压空气压入鑽孔以後,地下水像噴泉一样湧出來,一晝夜出水四百多噸。在廣漠的大草灘上,探察水源的人們最近也在乾旱的沙地上發現了一股泉水。現在一支勘探地下水的隊伍又出發到戈壁灘和沙漠去了’他們携帶着「电探仪」。这种「电探儀」可以探出地面下二三百公尺深的水源。
Over 100 people on the Gobi Desert and Grand Beach in western Gansu Province are looking for the water needed for the Lan-Xin railway locomotive. Explorers working on the Gobi Desert near Dongle have discovered abundant sources of groundwater. In some places, after they pressed high-pressure air into the boreholes, groundwater poured out like a fountain, discharging more than 400 tons a day and night. On the vast, turf, people exploring the water recently discovered a spring in the arid sand. Now a team of exploration groundwater has departed again to go to the desert and the Gobi Desert. They carry a “dipstick.” This “electric dipper” can probe out of the water source two to three hundred meters below the ground.
