在报刊诗词发展过程中,传教士报刊及其刊发的诗词作品值得深入考察。《东西洋每月统记传》时期,外国传教士刊发诗词意在将诗词与西方文化、宗教相攀附,以达成其传教目的。但这一时期传教士报刊刊载诗词不但较少原创作品,创作水平也较低,同时还表现出为了传教强说诗,而诗作本身并不承担传教等功能。《万国公报》时期,传教士报刊刊发诗歌的原创性大大增强。一大批中国传统文人如沈毓桂等人参与到办刊活动中,报刊的传播力得到了较为广泛的认同,郑观应、康有为等人便深受《万国公报》的影响;另外,报刊刊载诗词开始表现出交际应用等独立的功能性。而到《中西教会报》时期,刊发诗歌的社会功能更为明显,晚清中国社会中兴起的重要社会运动皆在《中西教会报》报载诗词当中有所反映。透过传教士报刊诗词,可以发现外国传教士的活动与中国社会之互动逐步深入的过程,同时,传教士报刊诗词与传教活动的联系日益密切,也说明诗词已经成为具有重要传播效果的报刊刊载形式。
During the development of newspapers and periodicals, the missionaries’ newspapers and their published works of poetry deserve further investigation. During the period of “Eastern Western Monthly Tongji Biography,” foreign missionaries published poems intended to attach poetry and Western culture and religion in order to achieve their missionary purposes. However, during this period, the missionaries’ newspapers contained not only original works but also lower levels of writing, while at the same time they also demonstrated that they had to say poems in order to preach, but the poems themselves did not undertake such functions as preaching. During the period of the “Universal Report”, the originality of the poetry published by missionary newspapers was greatly enhanced. A large number of Chinese traditional literati such as Shen Yugui and others participated in the running activities. The spread of newspapers and periodns was widely recognized. Zheng Guanying, Kang Youwei and others were greatly influenced by the “G-10 Communiqué.” In addition, Communicative applications such as independent functionality. However, during the “Sino-Western Church News”, the social function of publishing poetry was more obvious. The important social movements that emerged in Chinese society in the late Qing Dynasty were reflected in the poems published in the “Sino-Western Church Newspaper.” Through the poems of missionaries, we can find the process of the interaction between foreign missionaries and Chinese society progressively. At the same time, the links between missionary poetry and missionary activities have become increasingly close, which also shows that poetry has become a newspaper with important communication effects form.
