Beijing Garden Society held an on-site meeting on June 4 for the introduction of woody garden plants. Venue Xiangshan Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences Beijing Botanical Garden, the organization participated in the Beijing Gardens Bureau Nursery, Beijing Forestry College Department of landscapes, Beijing Garden Technical School and other twenty units, skilled workers, technical cadres and teachers, more than 40 people . Since the establishment of the Beijing Botanical Garden, there have been nearly 1,000 species of shrubs introduced from other places in the world. This time, 60 species of shrubs and trees suitable for open field cultivation in Beijing were chosen as the first batch of achievements to be recommended to Beijing. Among them, 50 species of shrubs and 10 species of trees are mostly rare ornamental trees in parks in Beijing. For example, hedgehog real, Tianmu Qionghua, fish acacia, salt tree, ephedra, European elm, elm and so have flowering, can promote breeding. On the morning of the meeting, we introduced the biological characteristics of various plants in the field, introduced them and cultivated them in the morning and discussed them in the afternoon. Everybody’s speech mentioned that to enrich the tree species in Beijing’s public gardens, we should first make proper arrangements for tree species planning, properly define the breeding tasks for each nursery, and at the same time, further clarify the breeding methods and do well in the experimental field and the model field. On the other hand, publicity should also be carried out extensively to make these tree species gradually beloved by the general public. In addition, we also proposed that we should recommend some more trees (especially street trees) and both have economic value and can enjoy the ornamental shrubs. All of these opinions will undoubtedly provide useful reference for future introduction and domestication.
