世界上现有的国际通信线路,有三分之二是由国际通信卫星提供的。一般说来,卫星系统的研制周期,需要六、七年时间。由于每年的通信信息量约增长20%,所以,每隔五、六年就得设计新一代国际通信卫星系统。目前正在设计国际通信卫星-VI。通过对未来国际通信的需求进行调研,并对技术上满足这些要求的可行性进行评价之后,提出了发展下一代国际通信卫星的三项关键
Two thirds of the world’s existing international telecommunications lines are provided by Interstellar. In general, the satellite system development cycle takes six or seven years. With the annual increase of about 20% in the volume of communications, a new generation of international telecommunications satellite systems needs to be designed every five or six years.
