Western Marxist studies have seen a new turn in the contemporary era, and attention to the issues of space and ecology has become an important topic. On the face of it, this shift seems to be scattered and unrelated, but it is not. Since the emergence of western Marxism, “how to overcome materialization” has always been one of its themes. However, in the consumer society, “materialization” is not only still an existing predicament we can not overcome, but also worsens. The spatial shift of contemporary foreign Marxism explains the more realistic reasons why materialization is more profound nowadays, answering the question that history of capitalism continues to be still on the verge of decline, and the proposal of eco-socialism tries to find a possible way for us to save.
