The title complex bis{1 (2 methoxyethyl)indenyl}dysprosium chloride ((CH 3OCH 2CH 2C 9H 6) 2DyCl, M r =544.42) crystallizes in the triclinic,space group P 1(No.2) with unit cell parameters a = 10.326(1), b = 10.591(1), c = 20.256(3) , α = 91.543(9), β = 97.69(1), γ = 94.754(9)°, V=2186.2(9)  3, Z = 4, F(000)=1076, D C= 1.65g/cm 3, μ =35.87cm -1, R =0.042 and R w =0.051 for 6193 observed reflections with I>3σ(I ). X ray crystal structure study shows there are two crystallographically independent molecules A and B (A=(CH 3OCH 2CH 2C 9H 6) 2 Dy(1) Cl, B=(CH 3OCH 2CH 2C 9H 6) 2Dy(2)Cl) in an asymmetric unit of the title complex. Each molecule was unsolvated monomeric molecule with a trans arrangement of both the sidearms and indenyl rings. The title complex bis {1 (2 methoxyethyl) indenyl} dysprosium chloride ((CH30CH2CH2C6H6) 2DyCl, M r = 544.42) crystallizes in the triclinic space group P 1 A = 91.543 (9), β = 97.69 (1), γ = 94.754 (9) °, V = 2186.2 (9) 10.3 3 , Z = 4, F (000) = 1076, DC = 1.65 g / cm 3, μ = 35.87 cm -1, R = 0.042 and R w = 0.051 for 6193 at reflections with I> 3σ (I) structure study shows there are two crystallographically independent molecules A and B (A = (CH 3 OCH 2CH 2C 9H 6) 2 Dy (1) Cl, B = (CH 3 OCH 2CH 2C 9H 6) 2Dy (2) Cl) of the title complex.
