Some indicators such as BOD5, inorganic nitrogen, COD and inorganic phosphorus in the sediments of Xiamen Western Harbor and Victoria Harbor in Hong Kong showed some correlation with the activity of alkaline phosphatase and the degree of contamination of water bodies. The correlation between the point and the distance from the terrestrial discharge point is relatively large, and the correlation is especially significant in waters with poor hydrodynamic conditions. From the overall level of analysis, the level of alkaline phosphatase activity in the sediment of Victoria Harbor in Hong Kong is about one order of magnitude higher than that of Xiamen West Port. This is also consistent with the fact that Victoria Harbor’s total amount of sewage in Japan and the history of receiving sewage far surpass the fact of West Port of Xiamen Consistent.
