This article starts from the famous anthology of the cultural anthropologist James Fraser on “Jin Zhi” and explores the metaphorical role played by Jin Zhi in Haruki Murakami’s new book “1Q84”. Through textual analysis, this paper reveals the deep textual structure contained in “1Q84” which is similar to the metaphor of “Jinzhi”, namely “the birth of the kings and the new king.” On this basis, this article further analyzes why “Heaven” in “1Q84” is determined to be a novelist as the image of a new king, and finally reveals the concept of Haruki Murakami’s literary creation in the postmodern context.
