由马里奥·普佐、弗朗西斯科·科波拉编创的《教父》三部曲,自1972年、1974年、1990年公映以来,先热继冷复趋恒温,几度毁誉交织,最终获得公认。《教父》三部曲是学院派的丰硕成果,原著和电影彼此独立又相互关联,构成独立自洽的音像部落,供给多维度的认知内涵。从教育的角度审视《教父》三部曲,则不难发现,科利昂、迈克尔的教育观颇有特色,溢出家庭、渗入社会,不乏合理的内核,其独立思考、万事存疑的精神,热爱家庭、重视友谊的主张,赞助教育事业、承担社会责任的业绩,反躬自省、悔过补过的行为,言传身教,刻痕斑斑,发光散热,值得称道。当然,其剑走偏锋、以毒攻毒、亦正亦邪、矫枉过正的苗头甚为显著,负面影响客观存在,理应批判和扬弃,不可轻率模仿。
