Objective To explore the influence of setting nutrition-related curriculum on dietary nutrition of college students. Methods The students were divided into two groups: those who had already cultivated nutrition courses and those who did not cultivate nutrition courses. The 3 - d diet was investigated by the method of 24h retrospective analysis. The analysis was based on the “Chinese residents’ reference intake of dietary nutrients (DRIs)”. Results Most students in nutritional courses had significantly higher intakes of dietary nutrients than those in unmodified courses (P <0.05). However, the intake of energy, protein, fat, carbohydrates, VitA, thiamine, riboflavin, VitE, and other important minerals other than phosphorus and iron in both groups of students were significantly lower than those recommended for this age group The proportion of people who ingest and reach the recommended level is very low. Conclusion The setting of nutrition curriculum has a beneficial effect on the dietary nutrition of college students and it is necessary to set up nutrition-related curriculum in schools.
