According to a report by the Swiss “Swiss Soldier”, No. 1, 1979, the Aerospace Department of Dynamics of the United Kingdom first published details of the “Saber” light antitank missile at the aviation exhibition held in Fallujah. The “Saber” missile is a laser-guided open-air missile developed on the basis of the “Sword” anti-aircraft missile. The missile is about 2.54 meters long and weighs 56.7 kg with a range of 1-6 km. It is used to block the battlefield and provide near-field support to deal with enemy mechanized units. Due to the high speed of such missiles, the carrier pilots can launch up to four missiles in succession and attack four tanks. “Saber” anti-tank missiles are hollow charge warheads but are currently studying other types of charge in order to successfully penetrate enemy multi-layer composite armor plates in the mid-1980s.
