This study uses four lexical judgment experiments to examine the online processing mechanism of Chinese English learners’ English inflection morphemes. Two groups of 80 subjects were divided into two language proficiency groups, each language group included 20 men and women. The results showed that all the participants processed the irregular verbs in the form of whole word representation. For the regular verbs, the high and low level groups were processed online with the word frequency effect. The boys mainly used the online decomposition and the girls mainly Characterize processing rules and irregular verbs as whole words. For the plural nouns of the nouns, the high-level group mainly deals with whole-word representations. The low-level group is treated both online and whole-word. The boys are mainly represented by whole-word representations. The girls are both performing whole-word representations and online decomposition. Both the whole word representation and online decomposition are used by Chinese EFL learners in the processing of inflectional forms. The processing mechanism is influenced by the interaction of word frequency, language level and gender.
